1. Listening Habit Inventory
- Rate your listening in three recent conversations on a scale of 1–5: (1) How much were you distracted? (2) Did you paraphrase or ask clarifying questions? (3) Were you listening to understand, or to respond?
- Identify your most common listening barrier from the list: noise, multitasking, message overload, personal concerns, rapid thought. Give one specific example.
- Choose a conversation this week where you will practice active listening intentionally. Write down three active listening behaviors you will use.
- After the conversation, return here and reflect: What was different? What did you learn about the speaker that you would have missed otherwise?
